About Me

HR expertise with a human touch.

I didn't start my career in HR.

Before I found my way into people and organisations, I worked as a soldier, serving my country in Iraq and Afghanistan. That experience gave me something a lot of HR professionals don't have, a real understanding of how people think and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Understanding people is what drew me to HR in the first place. And it is what has shaped how I work ever since.

It is important to note that I am a HR consultant and not a qualified solicitor. Any advice and guidance I provide in not regulated formal legal advice.

I have spent over 10 years working across some of the most demanding and complex organisations in the UK, the NHS, emergency services, housing associations, defence, and the public sector.

I have helped organisations through major restructures, designed new operating models, implemented HR systems, and supported individuals through some of the most difficult moments of their working lives.

I set up JC Consulting because I believe good HR support should be within reach of everyone, not just large organisations with big budgets, and not just individuals who can afford expensive solicitors.

I work with people who have been treated unfairly at work and need someone experienced and affordable in their corner.

What drives me has always been the same thing.

People.

Not processes, not frameworks, not org charts,  though I know those well enough.

What I care about is the person sitting across the table from me, whether that is someone who has just lost their job and does not know where to turn, or a someone who just has a bad feeling about something happening to them.

HR done well makes a real difference to people's lives. That is not something I take lightly.

If you would like to find out how I can help, the first conversation is always free.

No jargon. No obligation.

Just an honest conversation about your situation and what the right next steps might look like.
